Tokyo International Airport, Haneda airport

Domestics and International airports

Tokyo International Airport (commonly called "Haneda Airport") is the largest in Japan that boasts one of the highest numbers of passengers worldwide. There are many restaurants and souvenir stores in the airport building while you can also find concession stands that sell packed lunches called "Sora Ben." Indeed, there is a wide variety of Sora Ben sold at Haneda Airport. Although it is an airport that mainly offers domestic flights, there also are international routes that take passengers to nearby overseas destinations such as Seoul, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. There are three terminals at Haneda Airport: Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and International Terminal. A free shuttle bus service is available which takes you to and from the terminals. The terminal you need to go to depends on the airline company you have chosen.

Terminal 1:
Japan Airlines, Japan Transocean Air, Skymark Airlines, and Star Flyer

Terminal 2:
All Nippon Airways, Air DO, and Skynet Asia Airways

International Terminal:
all international flights


To Haneda Airport, it takes about 20 minutes both from Shinagawa Station on the Keihin Electric Express Railway Line and Hamamatsucho Station on the Tokyo Monorail. Although you can go to both Terminals 1 and 2 from Haneda Kuko Station on the Keihin Electric Express Railway Line, there are separate stations for each terminal in regards to Tokyo Monorail. To go to the International Terminal, it would be convenient to take the free shuttle from Terminal 2. There are buses called "limousine buses" that run from Haneda Airport which offer various routes to approximately 30 stations and hotels even in Tokyo only. Additionally, this convenient transportation service also runs from all the prefectural capitals in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
