fda_embraerFuji Dream Airlines (FDA), established on June 2008 and commenced operations in July last year from its Shizuoka base with scheduled flights to Komatsu, Kagoshima and Kumamoto, is now expanding its service to Shin-Chitose and Fukuoka airport from Shinshu Matsumoto Airport. The two routes currently flown by Japan Airlines will soon be abandoned at the end of May as part of the JAL restructuring plan.

FDA’s decision to serve the routes was made decisively at the request of the Nagano Prefecture, and both parties are making efforts for a smooth transition without causing disruption to users on these routes. FDA is expected to operate the Embraer 175 aircraft, the third aircraft to be delivered by the Brazilian’s aircraft maker Embraer, scheduled for delivery this year.

The Embraer 175 is a new aircraft model, to be configured into a single class cabin with 84 seats.
Announcement for the ticket price has not been made, many travelers are concern what price level is FDA going to set its ticket price which JAL has long been offering its ticket from Matsumoto to Sapporo and Fukuoka at around $370 one-way.
